I hand-dig clay from the banks of the Catawba River, harvesting from the same source my ancestors have used for over 500 years, and process it by hand through screens. My pottery is handbuilt using coil and pinch techniques, then scraped and burnished with inherited tools, including vegetable peelers, deer antlers, and polished stones. Finished pieces are open pit-fired.
