All bows are from natural wood stave of Osage Orange, Juniper & hickory. I use time honored Native techniques to create a beautiful shooting bow by studying the wood prior to shaving off the proper amount of wood that births a great shooting bow. I harvest elk sinew for backing bows and when enough sinew I make them into the bow string. Raw cow hide is obtained for backing bows and the creation of quivers. I harvest and tan the hides of bobcat and coyote for one of kind quivers. Bison (buffalo) horn or deer hooves are used for bow nocks. Arrows are made from a variety of woods, Sitka spruce, local wild plum, willow reeds depending on poundage of the bows and each fletching's are from local harvested turkey feathers.Each of my works of art is topped off with hand painted Ohkay Owingeh tribal dances and historical scenes on the bow limbs as well as the quivers I create. Modern items used are acrylic oil paint, glue and when unable to harvest enough sinew I use modern bow string.
