Navajo Nation
I am a traditional/Contemporary Navajo Potter. I've been making pottery since 1970. I gather my own clay and mix cinder for temper. Hand coiled, hand polished with stone. Red slip to shape it. I use corn cob to smooth traditional fire with wood and cow manure. I gather the pine pitch for glaze after they are fired.
