Description of Material and Technique Navajo (Dine) weaving is a traditional art form deeply rooted in Navajo culture which utilized traditional and modern materials. Navajo weaving is a manual process that requires much patience and endurance. Once the loom is manually prepared, the wool is cleaned, dyed, spun, and sorted. The weaving process is done one string of wool at at time and the batting comb is used to tighten and firm the weaving creation. Materials include hand and commercially spun wool, traditional and commercially dyes, handcrafted weaving loom, hand made cedar batting comb to tighten and firm the weaving.
