Ahnesah Clark

The metal art sculptures created by Ahnesah in 2 and 3 dimensional art pieces, start with a slate of sheet metal. Using a plasma cutter and oxy-acetelyne torch, Ahnesah formulates each design piece and welds them into place within the whole of the sculpture to tell a story. Her passion for welding and creating art are embodied in the metal art she expresses herself through. Metal sculptures are fashioned after the animals and figurines utilized in sandpainting and storytelling. Designs etched into the art pieces are symbolic of nature, animals and deities, taught to her by her elders. Wall hangings, full-bodied figurines adorn walls and gardens and homes, indicative of the Southwestern culture in which she was raised.
