Portfolio Example & Artist Statement

Materials used on all my weavings are 100% wool. Handspun 100% wool warp and binding cords (using the chain plying technique). 100% wool single ply yarn which is hand dyed by myself, the artist, using vegetal plants and roots that are native on the Navajo reservation. All weavings are done on a traditional Navajo loom stand (upright). Techniques I use on my weavings are all basic weave (back and forth 2 heddle process). Also use the interlocking/hooked joint weft for straight stacking, and the turned joint to make diamond/triangular shapes.
