My name is Bonnie Woodie, a designer from Steamboat, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation. I am the creative force behind Big Water Designs, drawing inspiration from both traditional and contemporary Native American culture. My motto, “Nishinigit ei Nishi”—“I Am Who I Am”—is reflected in my unique clothing designs. My grandmother’s rug weaving taught me the value of quality, shaping my intricate applique and beadwork style. I see my designs as “works of art through clothing” and strive to bridge cultural awareness. I’ve exhibited in museums across the U.S. and was the first Native American designer to showcase in Milan, Italy, honoring my heritage through fashion.
