My artwork consists mainly of clothing, with small yet bold details of sterling silver embellishments. I get much of my inspiration for the clothing from matriarchs in my family and from Diné life ways. Observing historical photos and witnessing older garments and jewelry allows myself to expand within my capacity of what historical clothing and embellishments would look like today. I design and draft my own patterns for the clothing. I also fabricate the sterling silver embellishments that I use to make the clothing pieces unique and one of a kind. The materials I use for the clothing are heavy weight natural linens, organic cotton, vintage cotton and calico fabrics, wool blends, and silky velveteens. I design and fabricate all silver embellishments that attach to the clothing, to resemble the utilitarian wear of silver. I have intentions for my artwork to be worn and used daily, even if they tend to look for special occasions.
