I’ve been a jeweler for over 30 years. I work in silver, gold, turquoise & other semi-precious stones. First of all comes the idea, then the sketch. Next I copy the sketch, glue stick the design onto the metal, then I cut out the design with a jewelers saw, file and remove the paper design. Then I solder / overlay.metals, stamp, cut out the next layer, file rough edges, shape and add the findings (earring posts, nails, etc.). Then to finish the work, I buff & polish before setting the stones. I also do inlay work and bezel stone setting. In many cases, I cut & cab my own turquoise & coral from rough material.
