I work on unstretched canvases, as well as stretched canvases depending on the mood of the painting. I feel that working on an unstretched canvas allows there to be more of an impersonal approach which makes me not attached to perfection in comparison to a stretch canvas that shields itself with perfection. Primarily I work with Acrylics, but I am open to a full assortment of mediums. I work with a paintbrush in one hand and a palette knife in the other as i orchestrate a field of striking colors to bring texture and contrast thus bringing to life a painting that pops. I have no preliminary drawings to the paintings and have a direct mark making aesthetics that brings to life a painting that invokes a contemporary emotion full of drama. In most cases my artwork reveals that emotion through an American Indian figure, whether a male or a female. The paintings are original and one of a kind with a Contemporary Neo-Expressionistic style that delivers an Authentic Navajo made piece of art.
