My work examines the intersection of southwestern landscapes and emotional experience, emphasizing how natural environments reflect the essence of the Southwest. Drawing inspiration from the shifting light and vibrant colors characteristic of the desert, I employ bold brushstrokes and textured layers to convey a sense of movement and energy.Each painting originates from an emotional reaction to a specific location�whether it be a transient moment of awe, tranquility, or nostalgia. I translate these sentiments into abstract forms, enabling viewers to engage with the artwork on a personal level. My incorporation of mixed media, including acrylics, charcoal, and found natural objects, enhances the tactile quality of the pieces, inviting a more intimate exploration on both canvas and paper.
