I am a lifetime Dine' weaver. I started weaving around the age of 6. First I helped my mother clean, card, spin and dye the natural wool. I would weave to help feed and clothe my children even with a 40 hour a week job. I have woven many different region styles of Dine' weaving such as Ganado Red, Teec Nos Pos, Crystal, Wide Ruins, Chinle, Burnt Water weaving, chief blankets, and various twill designs. I like to collaborate different styles of weaving into my Dine' weaving. I mainly use natural dyes from local plants around my home. Some of the dyes are Navajo Tea, Rabbit brush, Indigo, Cochineal, Walnut, Sage, Ground Lichen and Cliff Rose. I am a part-time instructor at UNM Gallup. Weaving in Beauty yarn shop in Gallup, NM.
