Yucca leave plants are gathered, cleaned, and split, using a pointed awl to flatten. Yucca may be dyed or left by its natural color. The yucca is sorted out in lengths, with the longest being used to begin the weaving from the center. Dyed and/or natural colored yucca is woven together, creating a design, to a desired size then placed onto a metal ring, formed, and woven along the edges. Yucca baskets are hand crafted.
