Halito! I create art in watercolor, graphite and oil. I am also working in 3-D mediums such as hides and buffalo skulls, using symbolic representation. Some of my works incorporate beading. One of the most important things to me as an artist is portraying Indigenous women as strong advocates and role models as a way to reframe current/past public narrative. The paintings I am submitting for this years' SWAIA Market are all painted on canvas, paper or wood structures. They have been created with oil paints and combined with traditional symbols to help illustrate our unique bond with the natural as well as the spirit world. Each image speaks with its own voice utilizing color and emotion. Yakoke (thank you)!
