My main materials are glass beads either from Japan or the Czech Republic as they are higher quality than others, and I also use nylon thread since it does not break as easily as other types of thread. I use these beads with bead weaving techniques like peyote stitch, brick stitch, flat stitch, RAW (right angle weave), herringbone stitch and many others. I love to incorporate raw materials into my work. Some of these materials are quills, deer and/or moose leather, which were either gifted to me or bought from an indigenous company, animal bones and teeth offered to me by a trapper, freshwater pearls that are mostly drilled by me at home, and I like to use deer or moose antlers. The antlers were given to me by family members who hunt every season for the community and I have sliced and carved myself. All my metal findings used in my work is hypoallergenic, lead-free and nickel-free, stainless steel or sterling silver. I like to add some semi-precious gemstones in my beadwork as well.
