The materials I use is yucca plant leaves and galleta grass which I harvest annually. The materials require long hours of preparation before use which I prepare myself. The yucca is stripped to workable strands of which, some are dyed the colors red and black. The prepared strips of yucca when ready to use, are woven (wrapped) over a bundle of galleta grass and/or thinner yucca strands; this is done by continuously puncturing into the previous coil and attaching a new coil by stitching with the yucca strands around the bundled galleta grass and/or yucca strands. The dyed yucca is used to create designs. The puncturing is done with a sharp awl.
