As an artist from the Zuni Pueblo, I began my professional creative journey relatively latein my adolescence at the age of 16. In regard to my creative upbringing and influence, I'vereceived guidance from my father, Geddy Epaloose, who is an established visual artist and mygrandmother, Phyllis Lucio, who is a silversmith/jeweler. I've also been inspired by many othergreat artists from Zuni and beyond such as Alex Seowtewa and Ronnie Cachini or Caravaggio,Michelangelo and Cristóbal Balenciaga. My main focus has been capturing traditional Zunistories, southwestern landscapes, portraits of people from my imagination or of those who'veinfluenced my life and geometric poems in the medium of painting. All of the aforementionedsubject matter is created primarily with oil paints on canvases that I stretch and prime myself.Alongside my visual art, I'm also an aspiring fashion designer with custom work andstyles ranging from traditional Zuni dresses and shirts to contemporary clothing.
