Traditional sculpting techniques are used, I use pneumatic air hammers and chisels. Grinders and die grinders along with abrasives and burrs are used to shape and finish the surface of the stone. Rasps and fine chisels are use to refine the image on the sculpture. Different stone and shells along with parrot and macaw feathers are also used. Thread and buckskin are used for decorating feathers. Beads are made from stones and shells. Limestone, Calcite, alabaster, granite and marble are all materials used to make sculptures. Lamination of stones and contrasts between stone colors and textures are employed as well. Light and shadow along with stone textures are a great component helping identify my work.
