Portfolio Example & Artist Statement
Marvin Slim

My work is all handmade, high-polished, Sterling silver with natural bright stones and shells. I use hand tools and hand form each piece. My tools consist of a handsaw, tree stump, raw hide hammer and an acetylene torch. Each piece is original; no casting involved. Techniques I use are inlaying stones, bezeling, overlay, and some mini sculpture pieces. I make all my beads that are in my big necklaces and squash blossoms. I also use 3 different wheels to get a high polish.
