Traditionally made pottery in the style of San Ildefonso Pueblo. Clay, red polishing slip and grey/white paint pigments are dug up from nearby sources. Clay, slip and paint are hand processed and made ready to use. Pottery is formed on a puki (base), hand coiled to desired height and shaped with a dry gourd. Pottery is left to dry then sandpapered smooth. Pottery is then had polished using a smooth river stone. Designs are hand painted using brushes. Pottery is finally fired outdoors using cow dung, cedar, cottonwood bark and horse manure.
