Hand fabricated from sterling silver. Flowers, hummingbirds and leaf details are sawed from sterling silver sheet. Texture is created with a hammer, flowers are formed using dapping techniques. Bezels are made from sterling silver sheet. Filing and sanding is done to the pieces to smooth and refine. Silver wire is formed/forged to shape and details are torch soldered together into the desired design. Sterling silver chain is made from sterling silver wire, forming each link with a mandrel and soldering links closed. Final finishing involves polishing, liver of sulfur is used to oxidize the silver, a fine satin matte finish is done on the silver to highlight the piece and add shadow detail. Stones are bezel set by hand. Lapidary techniques are used to cut and polish natural stones. Natural stones used in my work include Spiderweb Kingman Turquoise, Waterwebb Kingman Turquoise, Red Mediterranean coral, Ethiopian Opals, and Golden Hills Turquoise.
