Raylan Edaakie is from the Pueblo of Zuni and comes from a long lineage of jewelry makers. His parents were both silversmiths. He draws inspiration from their work, reflecting on significant Zuni ideology while adding his unique style to create his art. A central feature of Raylan's creations is the Sun Face design. For the Zuni people, the Sun is considered the Father of all living beings, which is why Raylan uses it as the focal point of his artwork. He employs sterling silver, which he hand forms, solders, and inlays with high-quality stones, corals, and shells.
