Primarily I use the combination of sterling silver and copper metals together to create all my jewelry pieces. My work is fabrication and overlay work of the traditional Navajo style jewelry with a contemporary look of both metals being combined. All of my pieces are manually hand-cut using a hand held coping saw/jeweler saw. In order to combine both metals together in one piece, all my pieces are hand-cut designs to fit together. Which is a task because I am using two different metals for my designs. When you are using one metal, you can cut your piece and the design will naturally fit together as it is from one piece of metal. Not so with two different metals being combined. I will hand file my cut pieces so they fit together nicely and evenly. I use an acetylene torch and 70 medium solder for soldering all my pieces.
