Portfolio Example & Artist Statement
Rudy Coriz

I create my jewelry using natural stones and shells such as Turquoise, Pipestone, Jet, Apple Coral, Serpentine, Melon Shell, Abalone, and Olive Shell. I use a combination of lapidary work and hand tools to cut, grind, shape and polish. Traditional necklaces are strung on wax string and finished with cotton string in a method called Squaw Wrapping. Contemporary necklaces and earrings are finished with Sterling Silver findings. All of my jewelry is hallmarked either on a silver disc or hand engraved with my trademark (RC and a feather).
