I make Acoma Pottery using traditional materials such as native clays and natural clay pigments. I dig my clay and collect pigments from my local environment. My potter Is hand built using a traditional coiling and shaping technique. I use commercial bristle brushes to paint with and fire my pottery in an electric kiln. My inspiration comes from gathering ancient pottery shards in my Pueblo and using those designs and incorporating my own modern geometric and fine line patterns. Seeing what I can create further enhances my creativity for a passion to carry on an art form that was passed down from my ancestors.
