Most of the materials I use are harvested from the land near my home by either myself or my family. The porcupine quills are harvested, washed and dyed by my mother. The moose or caribou are harvested for food and the hide is home tanned by my mother. The dyed reindeer hair is purchased from a fellow artist in Alberta. I harvest and prepare my own birchbark from the land. The caribou antler was harvested locally and gifted to me. I purchase the fur locally. The technique I use is the two-needle applique beading which is tacking down between each bead. I do all my own tufting with caribou and reindeer hair. The materials I purchase include abalone shells, dentalium shells, leather, delica beads, seed beads, nylon thread, artificial sinew, beading needles, 18 kt gold jump rings and clasps, surgical steel 18 kt gold plated earring hooks and clear Con-Tact paper.
